From Trauma to Wholeness with Sarah & Isabel Bowling - Episode 22

From Trauma to Wholeness

Trauma and triggers have become buzz words in recent years and they are sometimes used to describe something that makes us uncomfortable, something that is somewhat cringe-worthy, or even something that’s just a generally negative experience. But something that is truly traumatic is something that rewires your brain and moving forward, your instincts and your outlook are altered as a result of it. Regardless of your upbringing, socio-economic status, education, family background, or religious beliefs, we have all experienced trauma. It creeps and seeps into our lives, affecting our outlook, relationships, priorities, and choices.

My guests today are mother/daughter duo Sarah & Isabel Bowling, and their new book, “Road to Wholeness: Healing from Trauma,” is a unique look at the parable of the Good Samaritan through the lens of trauma. It will give you insight for healing from the trauma of your own story, as well as how to love and interact with others’ as they navigate their own journey of healing. Thankfully, Jesus can help us to transform trauma so it isn’t transferred, causing ripple effects of damage and hurt.
