I love a good devotional, don’t you? I also love to eavesdrop on another woman’s conversations with God. I have found both in the breathtaking book, “Fields of Joy” by Ruth Chou Simons.
Ruth is becoming well known as a lover of beauty and as a purveyor of God’s truth.
“God’s Word leaves a legacy of joy as we live by it, build upon it, and let it transform our minds and shape our hearts,” are Ruth’s own words. I couldn’t agree more.
“Fields of Joy” is a book that is overflowing with scripture, sacred affirmations, eternal thoughts and hand-painted artwork. It’s not just a coffee table book although you could lay it out on your coffee table for others to enjoy. It’s a book that is meant to go on display in all of the empty places in your heart. As Ruth says, “It’s time to preach truth to your own heart.”
Don’t be fooled by the size of this book; it is a little gem of a book filled with pockets of love, hope, peace and joy. It points you daily to Jesus. You can pick it up for a quick read with your daily cup of coffee, leave it by your bedside to read before you go to sleep or share your copy with a friend.
This book will remind you that God is faithful, that His Word is immutable and that in His presence is fullness of joy. What more could you ask for?
