The enthusiastic rays of sunshine that creep into my windows and gently nudge me awake are the first gift of a new day. A fierce yet welcome sunshine defiantly foils the ability of the window shades to prevent its cheerful entrance. 

There will always be seasons in life that usher in rare change and vibrant beauty … but those artistic and resplendent seasons are not solely beautiful. These seasons also come with challenges and disappointments and noise.

This is the single week of the year in which we celebrate the calling and the cause of motherhood. We salute all types of moms this week … biological moms, adoptive moms, foster moms, grandmoms and empty nest moms.

I can joyfully choose to trust Him and all that He is while my world is shaking with unwanted and unexpected quaking.

Do you know the difference between a hero or a heroine and a role model? A hero or heroine is likely someone whom you have never met and yet you stand in amazement at the way that this amazing individual chose to live their one glorious life.

I believe that Christmas is more than just a day … it is more meaningful than a holiday season … and it holds more power than one month on the calendar can communicate.

In the current culture of compromise and lackluster virtue, it is more important than ever to raise daughters who are bold, pure and filled with true identity. 

I think that you would all agree that we live in a world where many men don’t know how to be men of honor and men of faithfulness.  We can turn this thing around, moms of boys! 

Will you allow me over the course of the next few weeks to tell you some of the things that I have learned upon this rocky yet fulfilling journey known as “motherhood”?

I was thinking about the intimate yet powerful conversations that I have had with the Father over the years – and I realized that I have four voices in which I speak with Him.

To me, that which is truly valuable, is not something that I can hold in my hands.

I knew that in spite of murders and compromise … in spite of politics and protests … I knew that there was still a deep goodness in America that would help us all through the difficult days ahead.

A mountain is simply anything that is too large, too massive and too fixed for a man or a woman to move beyond in their own strength.
